About Us
Our Story
Heavican Homestead is a small family farm nestled in the rolling countryside of Schuyler, Nebraska. Established in 1894 and reestablished in 2021 by Thomas and Felicia Heavican, fifth-generation farmers, our roots run deep in this community we’ve always called home.
We grow corn, soybeans, pumpkins, and seasonal produce, and raise chickens and cattle — but our true passion is connecting people with farm life. We love providing fresh, homegrown food and a peaceful place where families can enjoy the beauty of nature.
We believe good beef starts with good care. Our cattle, pork, and poultry enjoy open spaces, fresh air, and a calm, low-stress environment that lets them thrive naturally.
Giving back is at the heart of what we do. From donating pumpkins and funds to local causes to joining in trunk-or-treats and farmers’ markets, we’re committed to supporting and celebrating our community.
At Heavican Homestead, farming isn’t just our work — it’s our way of life. We farm for our children, for our neighbors, and for the legacy of faith, family, and simplicity that’s been growing here for generations.
When you buy from Heavican Homestead, you're not just getting a meal - you are getting a piece of our family's legacy, rooted in faith, hard work, and respect for the land and animals we are blessed to care for.
